EnteringMonday Night Football, the Washington Redskins desperately needed a win to boost their playoff chances. A win would have tied them with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the last wild card spot in the NFC. However, the Carolina Panthers had other ideas, as they pulled off a 26-15 upset at FedEx Field.

In a battle of quarterbacks, Cam Newton came out on top. He threw for 300passing yards and two touchdowns. His adversary Kirk Cousins threw for 316yards, but threw a costly interception and had a costly fumble. Washington’s prime time struggles continue and their most recent loss is a huge blow to their playoff hopes.

Josh Norman, a former Panther, had a relatively quiet night, which was unexpected. Meanwhile, Carolina put forward one of their most impressive defensive efforts of the season.
